We offer a supported living environment within a beautiful township setting to help you maintain an active and rewarding lifestyle. At Ballan District Health & Care, we offer a person-centered approach to care. Knowing about you helps us offer activities and services that are likely to suit you. Below is some information about our facility and what we offer. If you’d like more information, or if you would like to book a tour, please call us on (03) 5368 1100.
Ballan is a small country town located ideally between Melbourne and Ballarat, five minutes off the Western Highway. The Ballan Main Street is a short stroll from Ballan District Health & Care and is home to cafes, op shops, a post office, a newsagency and more. There is also a library and community house.
The Ballan Autumn Festival attracts thousands of visitors, food vendors and stallholders to town – providing an opportunity for the local community to showcase local wares, produce and entertainment. Our residents can take part in the festivities, including participating in the parade. In 2018, we won the Mayor’s Award. In 2017, we won the LASA Community Engagement Award for our Priscilla Queen of the Desert High Tea event.
Other events include the regular Ballan Farmers’ Market, Ballan Lions Community Market and the annual Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Rally.

If your income and assets are below a certain amount, the Australian Government will pay for part or all of your accommodation costs.
The Department of Human Services will inform you of the applicable Daily Accommodation Contribution you will be required to make if this is the case, which can be fully converted to a Refundable Accommodation Contribution (RAC) if desired.
Table 1.0 shows the seven residential aged care room types available at Ballan District Health & Care and the maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) and the Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) you may be asked to pay.
