The Toddler Room is a vibrant and active Room catering for 12 very busy little people each day.

Ratios for children under three years are 1:4 and on days where room is fully booked, three educators are present.

Aims and Goals for the year

  • For children to initiate own play and select from the program provided the experiences that interest them.

  • For children to develop independence and self-help skills using routines as learning experiences.

  • For children to become more aware of the natural environment (by fostering curiosity and offering a hands on approach to learning about the natural world.)

  • For children to develop the necessary skills to assist in the building of positive relationships with both adults and children – through role modelling, practice, following own interests.

  • For children to develop a positive self-image by being-valued, listened to, talked to, encouraged, having their needs met, having fun, following own interests, feeling safe and secure.

What to Bring

  • Nappies (approximately 6-8 nappies minimum recommended for a whole day

  • Changes of clothing (at least two sets – covers toileting accidents and other routine soiling of clothing)  While we provide protective clothing for art experiences, toddlers are very busy people and we endeavour to allow them to explore the environment fully.

  • Comfort item – anything that can create a link between home and centre life is welcome.  This can be a teddy, a blanket, piece of clothing or other item that your child may be attached too.  Some parents provide photos that the child can carry with them through the day or attach to their bag.

  • Please DO NOT bring food – your child will receive adequate sufficiency throughout the day with our nutritious daily menu designed and approved by dietary professionals and offering your child up to 50% of their recommended daily nutritional intake.
