WHY BALLAN?

Ballan is a small country town located ideally between Melbourne and Ballarat, five minutes off the Western Highway. The Ballan Main Street is a short stroll from Ballan District Health & Care and is home to cafes, op shops, post office, news agency as well as the library and community house.

The Ballan Autumn Festival attracts thousands of visitors, food vendors and stallholders to town – providing an opportunity for the local community to showcase local wares, produce and entertainment. Our residents can take part in the festivities – including participating in the parade. In 2018 we won the Mayor’s Award. In 2017 we won the LASA Community Engagement Award for our Priscila Queen of the Desert High Tea event.

Other events include the regularly Ballan Farmers Market, Ballan Lions Community Market and the annual Vintage Machinery and Vehicle Rally.
